Aerones is a Latvian company specializing in advanced robotics for use in first-of-a-kind commercial-scale wind turbine inspection and maintenance.
Robotized maintenance aims to provide higher-quality repairs and maintenance while significantly improving work safety by reducing the need for maintenance personnel to work at heights.
Aerones applied for financial support from the EU Innovation Fund for manufacturing and taking to market 30 first-of-a-kind robotic systems for wind turbine generator rotor blade repair. CAPEX Advisors developed the project’s financial model and assisted Aerones in developing the project’s financial maturity for the grant application.
The project was granted 4,4 million euros, which Aerones will use to bring the world’s first turbine blade leading edge repair robots to market. Total budget for the project is circa 7,4 million euros. The project will shorten repair downtime, leading to CO2 emission savings and improved wind power generation efficiency.
Aerones launched the project in October 2023 and aims to reach commercial operation by end of 2025.
